EESTI LAULELDUSED
(ESTONIAN SINGSPIELS)
EESTI FILHARMOONIA KAMMERKOOR
The CD offers the
listener the best pieces of the first and the last Estonian Singspiel.
The Singspiels are connected with each other by the
characters, which appear at the end of the 19th century in the
first and at the end of the 20th century in the second Singspiel,
as well as by the composer Raimo Kangro who orchestrated and
arranged K. A. Hermann's "Uku and Vanemuine". Hermann's
work inspired him to compose his own "Uku and Ecu".
Many of the characters are sung by choir's soloists, from outside
are involved Pirjo Levandi (Salme), Voldemar
Kuslap (Uku) and Olari Elts (Eurorpheus).
