Mikk ÜleojaMikk Üleoja (1970) has studied choir conducting (instructor Elo Kaarepere) and trumpet (instructor Avo Ots) at Tallinn Music High School. He graduated from Estonian Academy of Music as a choir conductor (professor Ants Üleoja) in 1997.
Mikk Üleoja took refresher courses in singing from Christian Boole during 1990 - 1993 in Finland. From 1994 to 1996 he was a singer of Estonian National Male Choir, working simultanously as a chief conductor of chamber choir "Mattone" in Pärnu. He was the finalist of the third Estonian young choir conductors' contest in 1995.
Mikk Üleoja started as the singer of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in 1996, from the year 1998 he was offered the choirmaster's duties by Tõnu Kaljuste.
In concert season 1999/2000 Mikk Üleoja was holding the post of guest conductor, preparing concert series "Vox Septem Sæculi" (pro: "Vox Septem Sæculorum") - his choice of choir literature through the seven past centuries, starting from Gregorian chants and coming up to contemporary choir music.
Mikk Üleoja is also a member of the Gregorian ensemble "Vox Clamantis" (conducted by Jaan-Eik Tulve).
