On February 16 and 17, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir gives three concerts in Iceland in Salurinn Concert Hall and Skarholt Cathedral to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Estonian Republic.

The concerts are symbolic musical gifts from Estonia to the Iceland Republic, who was the first state, who acknowledged the independence of the Estonian Republic in 1991.

Besides early music and the compositions of Arvo Pärt, Mart Saar and Cyrillus Kreek, a new piece “Three Icelandic Songs” by the Estonian composer Tõnu Kõrvits will have its premiere in Iceland.

The conductor is Daniel Reuss, who becomes EPCC’s chief conductor in September 2008.
