On September 30, the Danish Music Awards 2007 in classical music were given in Copenhagen. The award in the category of the best foreign recording was given to Arvo Pärt’s “Da pacem” performed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the conductor Paul Hillier (Harmonia Mundi). Other nominees in this category were recordings of Brahms’ “German Requiem” performed by Berlin Philharmonics, Berlin Radio Chorus and conductor Simon Rattle (EMI CLASSICS) and Beethoven’s piano sonatas performed by Andras Schiff (ECM).
Danish Music Award, given by Danish Radio, is one of the most outstanding music awards in Denmark. The best foreign recording award was given this year for the first time.
