Mirell Jakobson (soprano) graduated cum laude from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with a master’s degree in classical singing under Professor Nadia Kurem and a bachelor’s degree in classical singing (2022) and music pedagogy (2016). Mirell has participated in masterclasses both in Estonia and abroad with instructors such as Stefano Patarino, Ain Anger, Toril Carlsen, Luca de Marchi, Leonardo de Lisi, Willem Wentzel, Manuela Uhl, Perrine Madoeuf, Jörg Dürmüller and Natalia Volcenko.

In collaboration with the EMTA Opera Studio, she has performed in Offenbach’s operetta Orphée aux Enfers, Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte, Blacher’s opera Astrakte oper nr. 1, Britten’s opera The Little Sweep, and in October 2023 Mirell made her stage debut at the Estonian National Opera singing the role of Pamina in Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte. In addition, Mirell has sung as a soloist in large-scale works such as Poulenc’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Krönungsmesse, Tüür’s Requiem, Schubert’s Messe C-Dur, Purcell’s Ode to St. Cecilia, Vivaldi’s Gloria and others. Among the most memorable solo concerts will be a Lied duo concert in collaboration with pianist Rose Thomas, and the concert Uno soprano, due soprani. From 2015 to 2019 she sang in the chamber choir Collegium Musicale. Mirell sings with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir from the 2024/2025 season.

In addition to singing, Mirell has worked as a choir conductor and vocal coach with the Korp! Rotalia male choir, PPA mixed choir and the mixed choir Noorus. Previously, she has also worked as a singing studio teacher at Jana Trink’s private school.
