Annely Leinberg

Annely Leinberg (alto/mezzo-soprano) began her musical journey as a preschooler with violin studies that continued in Tallinn Music High School. At the same time, she started singing in the Estonian Television Girls’ Choir. After high school, she worked in event marketing for a while, but because of her desire to pursue music, she resumed her studies. In 2015, Annely earned her master’s degree in music pedagogy from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, while also taking singing classes with Marika Eensalu at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School. In 2016, she continued her studies in classical singing at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she went to the Utrechts Conservatorium in the Netherlands as an exchange student in autumn 2017. As a result, she earned a bachelor’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2018 under the supervision of Eva Märtson, and a master’s degree in 2021 under the supervision of Helen Lepalaane. At the same time, she also completed her master’s studies in singing under Karin van der Poel at the Utrechts Conservatorium where she performed her graduation concert in the summer of 2022.

As a soloist, Annely has performed primarily in various large-scale works and Bach cantatas mostly in Estonia and in the Netherlands, conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste, Daniel Reuss, Kaspars Putniņš, Nils Schweckendiek, Jos van Veldhoven, Simon Carrington, Andres Mustonen, Endrik Üksvärav, Aapo Häkkinen, Toomas Siitan and others. Alongside singing, she works as an assistant conductor of the chamber choirs of the Estonian Academy of Arts and the Veronika Portsmuth Choir Academy. Since the 2015/2016 season, Annely has participated in a number of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir’s projects, and in August 2023, she joined the choir as an alto singer.

Annely’s favourite non-musical activities include travelling around the world, and even more so making plans for her travels. Due to her great love for everything related to Spain, she is actively engaged in learning the local language.
