The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) is about to enter the world of NFT / Metaverse because we wish to grow our community in the global digital society.
What is NFT?
An NFT or non-fungible token (NFT) is a digital identifier that is recorded on a blockchain and is used to buy unique digital art, music or videos. Its uniqueness and authenticity, secured by blockchain technology, distinguish it from other tokens. The last few years have seen an exponential growth in everything related to NFTs including digitization, buying, selling and collecting of art in all its forms, from fine art to music.
What is the metaverse?
The metaverse is a virtual world created with virtual reality technologies, a place where users can communicate with each other and with artificial intelligence. The metaverse is a digital simulation of the real world, offering new experiences and opportunities that may be difficult or impossible in the real world. The metaverse could also be described as Internet’s next stage of development. Internet’s first phase was all about sharing information. The second, currently dominating phase focuses on communication and social media, and its future version, the metaverse will bring virtual reality and interactiveness.
The EPCC wishes to expand its mission in the digital sphere, offer digital works to a wider cross-border audience and find new support schemes for making the choir more visible in the global digital community.
